Teacher Spotlight - Laci Duran, Kindergarten | Schedule a Tour!

Hello! My name is Laci Duran, and I am a Kindergarten teacher here at Canyon Rim Elementary. I have been teaching for five years, and my absolute favorite part of the job is witnessing the "insane" amount of growth these students make from the first day of school to the last!

We love to celebrate big milestones in Kindergarten! My favorite moment of the year so far was our 100th Day of School celebration. We filled the day with "100-themed" activities, and seeing all the students dressed up like 100-year-olds was a highlight I won't soon forget. We make sure that hitting those big goals is as fun as it is rewarding.

If I can offer one piece of perspective, it’s this: The transition is often harder on you than it is on them! Your children are so resilient. Try to relax and simply enjoy the new excitement and light they bring home to you every single day after school.

When I’m not in the classroom, I’m a busy mom of three! Most of my free time is spent on the sidelines cheering at my kids' sporting events. I also love country music and line dancing, and I look forward to our annual family vacation to Mexico every year.
