1173506_stock-photo-kids-reading.jpg Our library has over 16,000 items for your child to checkout and enjoy!  A majority of our books are supported by the Accelerated Reader Program. We encourage you and your child to visit our library.

The following is a list of library policies:

1. Students will receive a barcode from the library to be placed on a 3-prong folder. This folder will serve as the student’s hall pass and library card.

2. Students (1st - 6th ) may checkout two items. The exception to this is when a class project (i.e.state reports, animal reports, famous people report) is assigned.

3. Materials and books are checked out for one week. If the book is needed for a longer period, the book must be brought back to the library to be renewed. Students with books that are more than one month overdue will not be allowed to checkout additional items.  An overdue notice will be sent home with your child.

4. If a book is lost or damaged please notify the library immediately. If the book cannot be

repaired or the book is lost, you will receive a notice of replacement cost. Gilbert Public School District Policy states that students are responsible for any damaged or lost library materials. Replacement fees must be paid before the student may checkout additional items.

5. All items must be returned or a replacement fee paid by the last day of the current school year.

6. Found items that have been paid for may be returned during the same school year for a full refund. (Payments made will be refunded by the district, and will be arrive by mail in a few weeks.) Found items not returned during the same school year will not be refunded but will be issued as credit.

I look forward to working with your child this year!
